If You Are an Adult and Have ADHD or Feel ADHD-ish...
I CAN WORK WITH YOU!

I have worked with all types of folks.  Some diagnosed with ADHD and some who just feel ADHD-ish. So, if we re a coaching match... We can probably work together.  That being said... I do have a few types of folks who tend to come to me for coaching.  Scroll down to explore or click the list below, and see where you might fit in!  Then... let's have a chat.

Creatives

What’s a “Creative Genius?’

One of the roots of the word genius means “to bring into being.”  So, my creative geniuses bring things into being!  You might be a screenwriter, actor, director, producer, musician, visual artist, designer, maker, game designer, coder… The list goes on.

Bottom line, you create things and experiences for people.

I also think I might know a few things about you. (I am guessing some of these things will relate) :

  • Perfectionism is an enemy. It causes you to focus on minutiae, and sometimes, fear of it not being perfect keeps you from starting at all.
  • You're an idea factory. You have ideas coming from every orifice and they all seem really important and need to be done right now so you get overwhelmed and don't know where to start.
  • Oh, and that idea thing... Sometimes the act of thinking through a great idea is so satisfying, it feels like you've done something when you haven't.
  • Your time management generally sucks... There seemed to be two modes, now and not now.
  • You can be super focused when you're really interested or passionate, but a disaster when it comes to things like your timesheet or paperwork or... Fill in the blank on something that you find horribly boring... even if it's important.
  • You're great with external deadlines (and by great, I mean usually doing it last minute but getting it done… most of the time)
  • You're more likely to prioritize something for someone else and let your stuff go by the wayside.
  • Sometimes you may have trouble regulating your emotions.
  • The list goes on... but hopefully you see my point.

When I work with someone like you I help you learn strategies to focus, organize and prioritize and then follow through on what's most important. You build a team around you to support you and uncover how you work best and what really gets you going so that you can focus more time on what works and little or no time on those things that distract you from what is your passionate purpose. You end up being able to spend more time doing your art and find creative ways of expression that you had never thought possible. You start following through on some of those great ideas and then, for many of my clients, synchronicity steps in and success takes over.

Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs

You have gone off on your own and started a business. You have broken free of the tyranny of what it is like to work for someone else! Bravo!

But there are some problems.

    • There are so many things you could do. you're overwhelmed and feel like you don't know where to turn or what to do next.
    • You feel disorganized.
    • It takes you so much longer to do things than it should.
    • You know you're probably undercharging and under earning.
    • Everything is free and open … but the downside is you feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.
    • HOLY CRAP, you think you might be missing your BOSS????

When I work with entrepreneurs, I help them identify how they work best, find a flexible structure that works for them and cultivate an exciting balance of life and work and relationships that both stimulate and inspire them. When they work from their passion, often they find fulfillment like they never thought possible.

Professionals

Professionals

If you're like a lot of the professionals that I work with, you know you're not going to go any farther in your job unless something changes!

    • It might be that you miss deadlines.
    • You might be consistently late.
    • Maybe you consistently underestimate the time it takes to do a project and so you have to rush at the last minute.
    • Maybe you don't know what project is the most important to be working on right now.
    • You feel scattered, unfocused, unorganized and your prioritization skills suck.
    • At home, you procrastinate on things you should be doing and know you're not living up to your potential.
    • You often get absorbed in projects or activities that in hindsight might have been interesting and fun but really didn't move you forward and so you feel like you've wasted your time.
    • Your “to-do” list grows no matter how many you check off.
    • Finally, the important people in your life don't seem to quite understand why you can't seem to get it together. They critique, cajole, get tough… and you believe them and feel like crap.
    • You often feel misunderstood and you beat yourself up because it.
    • Comparing yourself to others, it seems so simple for them but nearly impossible for you.

Until you understand how you can harness your gifts and talents while compensating or delegating your weaknesses, it is very possible that you will stay on that “hamster wheel” that you feel like you've been running on years.

We work on the things that can help you focus, prioritize, and identify the ways that you work so you can motivate yourself authentically and with passion, find the interest and excitement in life again, and help improve your relationships.

Undergrad and Grad Students

Undergrad and Grad Students

Have you ever noticed that your apartment is never so clean as it is during finals week?

    • You’re really very smart and so the project you procrastinated on, turns out pretty well.  You imagine how much better it could have been if you'd just taken more time and planned better… not waiting for last-minute.
    • You're pretty good with subjects you're interested in but even with those, overwhelm can set in.
    • Organizing a project or a paper is overwhelming.
    • What others are doing seems so much more interesting and so you go with your friends and blow off work.
    • It really isn't that you don't care, it just seems like something in you keeps you from paying attention to what's important when it is important to pay attention.
    • You know you're not living up to your potential and so you beat yourself up, vow to get it together and buckle down! The “self-discipline program works for a bit but get exhausting and the cycle continues. You think, “what is wrong with me?”

What if you could harness the abilities that you know are inside of you and direct them to what's important while still being able to have fun, enjoy your life and be successful like you know you can be? Wouldn't that be a worthwhile conversation to have with a professional coach? Click here to learn more and apply to become a client.

But....What if you don't fit any of these categories?

They say that about 4-6% of the world could be diagnosed as ADHD… but 85% don't know it!

We live in a world where so many things are "jones-ing" for our attention that we don't know where to look.  We forget… we get overwhelmed… we get stressed out… we get scattered… we feel like we are not living up to our potential.

In fact, the information overload is so profound these days, there is even a name for people who feel really ADHD-ish:

VAST – Variable Attention Stimulus Trait.

These people who have many of the symptoms of ADHD but don’t meet the official DSM criteria.

Regardless of whether you are diagnosed with ADHD or not, the strategies that a great ADHD trained coach uses will help you with focus, motivation, organization, follow through and impulse control.

The pages below will help you understand more about ADHD and coaching and **some** of types of people I work with.

If you are not on the list… who cares… I love working with amazing people so let’s see if we are a good match. Click here to learn more and apply to become a client
